Following the challenging Voting and Interview Rounds, PennSchool has officially selected the most outstanding candidates to become members of the Student Council for the academic year 2024 – 2025.
Becoming a member of the Student Council is an opportunity for students to develop soft skills, particularly leadership, while also contributing positive values to the PennSchool community.
“As President of the Secondary & High School Student Council, I want to inspire other students to step up and take part in school activities. Being a leader is not just about making decisions; it’s about helping others grow and feel confident. I hope to encourage students to join events, share their opinions, and take pride in our School. By working together, we can create a friendly and positive school environment where everyone feels happy and supported. I believe that every student has something special to offer, and the Student Council can help bring out the best in everyone. This year, we aim to make the School not just a place for learning, but also a place where great memories are made.
I would like to make sure everyone feels included and has a chance to share their ideas. Working with the other Student Council members, I can create events and projects that students will enjoy and remember. I hope to build a stronger connection between students and teachers so we can all work together effectively. This role is not just about leading but also about listening and learning. I know it will take hard work, but I’m ready to do my best. I believe that with teamwork and new ideas, we can make this year better for everyone.”
Mai Nguyen Phuong Trang – Grade 11 – shared her role as the President of the Student Council.
As Co-Vice President, Hoang Tan Ngoc Minh, along with other members of the Student Council, has come up with ideas and prepared activities planned for this academic year, ensuring that tasks are effectively allocated among members.
“We believe that being part of the Student Council is an amazing way to make our school a better place. This year, the President plans to organize fun events like Spirit Days, Christmas, and Prom to bring everyone closer and make school more enjoyable. We also aim to manage the school budget wisely, with the Treasurer helping us save and spend on activities that students will love. The PR team will work hard to share news about events using posters and announcements so everyone knows what’s happening. As a team, we want to create a school environment where students can have fun, feel included, and enjoy being part of the community. We believe these events and activities will help bring students together and build school spirit. We also want to focus on ensuring students feel involved and supported. The Vice President plans to help lead the team by organizing meetings, checking on our progress, and making sure everyone works well together.
The Vice President is also interested in collaborating with the President to create more opportunities for students to engage in school activities, like group projects or team challenges. We also want to work closely with the PR team to make sure students are excited about upcoming events. Our Secretary will help us stay organized by sharing updates, taking notes during meetings, and keeping track of our plans. We hope these ideas will help every student feel like their voice matters and that they are part of something important. Together, we want to make this year the best one yet for everyone at our school.”
“I also understand the importance of being able to represent the student voice. This is not only an opportunity for me to demonstrate my leadership skills, but also a great chance to practice skills such as communication, management, and problem-solving. I feel a greater sense of responsibility than ever. However, I believe that I can contribute to making this year better by introducing engaging and exciting activities that bring positive change to the PennSchool community.” This is not only Phuong Trang’s hope as the President, but also the shared belief of all the members of the Student Council united in their goal of creating a memorable academic year.
With a new term ahead, we hope that our Student Council will continue to be a trusted bridge between the School and #HomeOfTheEagles, inspiring unity, leadership, and growth within our community.
