Student Council Election for the Academic Year 2024 – 2025
Goals & Objectives
The Student Council election for the academic year 2024 – 2025 has officially started. Becoming members of the Student Council is an opportunity for students to develop leadership skills, serve as a bridge between the School and students, and propose innovative ideas that positively contribute to the growth of the PennSchool community.
Participants
Elementary School students from Grades 4 – 5 and Secondary & High School students from Grades 9 – 12.
Agenda
Student Council Positions:
- President (for Grades 11 – 12 and Grades 4 – 5 students): The leader and primary representative of the student body, responsible for directing the decisions of the Council and acting as the liaison between students and school administrators.
- Vice President: Supports the President, acts as the second-in-command, and ensures the smooth operation of the Council in the absence of the President.
- Secretary: Responsible for documenting Council meetings, decisions, and activities and managing communication with school staff and other organizations.
- Treasurer: Manages the finances of the Council, keeps records of income and expenses, and provides financial updates to the Council.
- Public Relations Officer: Handles external communication, promotes Council events, and fosters positive relationships between the students and school administrators.
Election Process:
The Student Council Election consists of 3 rounds:
- Round 1 – Registration (25/09 – 09/10/2024)
Students interested in running for a position on the Student Council should register their candidacy and submit a short video (under 1 minute) as a slogan to encourage other students to vote for you.

The video must be titled using the following format: Full name – Class – Position.
Submission Deadline for the Form and Video: 09/10/2024.
- Round 2 – Voting (14/10 – 18/10/2024)
Students vote for their preferred candidates within this designated period. During Homeroom sessions in Election Week, the Homeroom Teachers will play the campaign videos of the candidates running for Student Council. Students will then cast their votes using their personal or school-provided devices.
Voting Rules:
- Each student can vote 1 candidate per position on the Student Council. (Students cannot vote 2 candidates for the same position).
- Students need to vote for all 5 positions in the Student Council.
- Elementary School students will vote for candidates in the Primary School whereas Secondary School students will vote for candidates in the Secondary & High School.
Deadline for the Voting Round: 18/10/2024.
- Round 3 – Direct Interview with the Board of Principals (22/10 – 25/10/2024)
The winners of the election will undergo an interview with the Board of Principals to evaluate and determine key positions within the Student Council. The official results will be announced at next month’s Assembly.
Note:
Each student can only apply for one position. In cases where the student qualifies to be a member of the Student Council but the position that they applied for has already been occupied, the Board of Principals will consider assigning the student to another position.
