Discovering the traditional value with Spring festival 2023

Tet fair is one of the special events which is a typical part of Vietnamese culture. And the traditional festival has been presented at PennSchool Spring festival 2023.   

In the harmony of Tet’s atmosphere, a joy and warmth Tet has been shown in Spring festival 2023 with the theme “Year of the Cat – Tet Sum Vay”.

Students had a chance to find out the traditional value of Tet through many different activities in featured stalls. At the Spring festival, students could find out the customs of previous generations, since then continuing to preserve. One of the favorite “destinations” is stalls of artisans with many “first-time” experiences. They are decorated as the market of the countryside, which allows students to get traditional experiences of Tet. The stalls of calligraphy, toy figurines and making Chung cake left students with strange but familiar experiences, and the stalls of folk games gave them memorable memories with teachers and friends.

Another interesting activity in the Spring festival are the students’ performances. Traditional combining modern dance created a joyful atmosphere for everyone. Students were also impressed with “Loto show” which is one of the traditional Tet activities in South Vietnam.

At the end of the event, students had a buffet lunch with many traditional Tet foods, which create different emotions when they have a chance to join with teachers and friends.

Through variable activities, Spring festival gives students an opportunity to find out the values of long-standing traditional cultures. Besides, the event not only gives them beautiful memories to welcome the New Year, but also offers them to respect the accent customs of Tet.
