The PennSchool community came together to adorn October with a myriad of diverse colors through a series of remarkable events, creating an atmosphere buzzing with positive energy.
In response to Spirit Week with the theme “Go Green, Breath Clean” early in October, students actively engaged in activities aimed at enhancing environmental awareness and supporting the community. #HomeOfTheEagles wore green shirts, attended workshops, as well as shared ideas and participated in the Environmental Fair. The week concluded on a meaningful note when students donated books, clothes, and toys to the young children of the SOS Children’s Village.
Amidst the joyful ambiance of October 20, #HomeOfTheEagles shared messages of love and meaningful gifts, crafted by the students themselves, to honor women worldwide. Through creative activities centered around the theme “Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change,” students personally designed and inscribed heartfelt messages on adorable cards and paper flower bouquets. Each creation encapsulated the dedication and love that the students wanted to convey to the most significant women in their lives.
The highlighted event of this month was the United Nations Day. The grand event with the theme “Picnic Day: United Nations Cultural Celebration” officially took place in October 24 & 25, offering a diverse cultural environment and memorable experiences for #HomeOfTheEagles. The event featured entertaining activities at various booths, traditional games representing different countries, and awe-inspiring performances by talented students. It provided a memorable opportunity for students to interact, connect, and strengthen their spirit of solidarity.
Another event in the series was the Columbus Day activities, including the Golden Bell Ringing Contest with the theme “Columbus’ Legacy: The New World Unveiled” for students from Grades 2 to 7. This contest brought intense moments of competition, filled with surprises. Within a brief period, participants experienced a range of emotions, from joy and happiness as they continued competing to disappointment and surprise when their chosen answers turned out to be incorrect. In the end, the most outstanding students were honored, showcasing their passion for social sciences in general and their knowledge about Columbus Day in particular.
PennSchool hopes that these exceptional events in the past month have provided students with an opportunity to reflect together towards good things, always showing solidarity and respect for everyone. Together, we have created memorable moments, contributing to making this month exceptionally meaningful and special.
