With their passion for music, perseverance, and confidence in facing challenges, two PennSchool students achieved remarkable success at the National Piano Festival. This prestigious music competition gathers thousands of talented young pianists from across Vietnam. These proud accomplishments are not only the “sweet rewards” of dedicated practice, but also a testament to the courage and determination of our #HomeOfTheEagles to constantly push beyond their limits.
At this year’s competition, Nguyen Tuan Nam from Class VAP-5A proudly earned the Gold Medal with a confident and emotional performance. Recalling the unforgettable moment, Tuan Nam could hardly hide his happiness while holding the sparkling gold medal on the final stage in Hanoi: “Holding the shining gold medal and the little certificate under the stage lights, I just wanted to shout with joy. At first, I only saw this competition as an opportunity to practice and learn from other students across the country. But after passing the first two rounds, I became determined to win a medal in Hanoi. This achievement came from my continuous effort and determination, as well as the support from my family throughout the journey. It will motivate me to continue striving for even greater accomplishments. I would also like to thank my beloved PennSchool for always creating opportunities for my friends and me to explore music through talent clubs. They have been an endless source of inspiration and a meaningful playground for us.”
Meanwhile, Do Nam Khanh from Class VAP-6B also proudly brought home the Bronze Medal after overcoming a challenging journey through three rounds: the Preliminary Round, the City Round, and the National Final Round. Reflecting on his experience, Nam Khanh shared: “For the final performance of the very last round, I decided to challenge myself by choosing a very difficult and advanced piece. Although the song required a high level of technique and expression, I wanted to push beyond my comfort zone and show my musical ability. After all, I wanted to win. During the performance, I became nervous and missed several notes, which affected my final score. Because of this, I was unable to achieve the gold, walking home with a bronze medal. Even so, earning the bronze medal taught me an important lesson about courage and determination. I learned that success is not only about winning, but also about being brave enough to take risks and improve through experience. Looking back, I am still proud that I chose such a difficult piece and performed it on a national stage. This achievement motivated me to continue practicing and striving for even greater success in the future.”
The achievements of Tuan Nam and Nam Khanh are not only a source of pride for their families and teachers, but also continue to inspire the spirit of dreaming big, embracing challenges, and constantly growing among our #HomeOfTheEagles. PennSchool believes that with their talent, dedication, and passion for music, these students will continue to shine on even bigger stages in the future.
