A Brilliant May of the PennSchool Community

May is also the time when #HomeOfTheEagles come together to participate in the Parents-Teacher Conference and Closing Ceremony of the academic year 2023 – 2024. At the same time, the Graduation Ceremony also took place with many emotions.

In the middle of May 2024, the #HomeOfTheEagles participated in many Field Trips together, recording many memorable memories with friends and teachers and learning essential knowledge and skills during the Parents-Teacher Conference. Accordingly, on a trip to District 10 Police Headquarters, students listened to the Fire and Rescue Police Team share the causes of fires and explosions, how to respond, and notes when encountering fires. Along with practical knowledge, #HomeOfTheEagles and their teachers practiced hypothetical situations such as evacuating in case of incidents and using fire extinguishers and specialized water hoses to extinguish fires. 

In addition, students also had the opportunity to observe the process of producing fermented yogurt drinks during their trip to the Yakult Factory, confectionery production at the Bibica Factory, and MSG production at the Ajinomoto Factory. Besides, #HomeOfTheEagles learned a lot of interesting knowledge about digestive health, school psychology, “To He” art, and cuisine through interesting workshops with experts. Not stopping there, students also freely explored the snow world at Saigon Snow Town with many interesting games such as skiing, making snowmen, and snow throwing with friends. 

To support #HomeOfTheEagles in career orientation and research into suitable majors, the School organized a trip to visit RMIT University and Western Sydney University. Through this trip, students learned about the school’s student life, the school’s course offerings, the learning path, and scholarship policies.

On May 25, 2024, parents were present at the Graduation Ceremony for the academic year 2023 – 2024 to witness the #HomeOfTheEagles of Grade 5, IAP-8, Grade 9, and Grade 12 wear their graduation gowns, proudly looking back at their recent achievements and congratulating them on reaching an important milestone in their journey of discovering knowledge. At the ceremony, the students received their diplomas – proof of their constant efforts in their learning journey – and expressed sincere gratitude to their parents and teachers for their kindness in raising them.

At the same time, the Closing Ceremony of the academic year 2023 – 2024 was held on May 29, 30, and 31, 2024 to honor and congratulate the impressive achievements of the entire #HomeOfTheEagles in the past academic year. In this Closing Ceremony, the #HomeOfTheEagles looked back at the memorable moments of the House System. During the ceremony, each member of the 4 Houses – Aqua, Terra, Ignis, and Ventus – received a worthy reward, as a token of gratitude from the School for their great efforts and contributions during the academic year. In addition, the School also awarded certificates of merit and trophies to outstanding #HomeOfTheEagles who achieved the Principal Honor Roll Award and rewarded all #HomeOfTheEagles for their learning spirit during the past academic year. Most notably, the #HomeOfTheEagles of Grade 12 walked together along the classrooms and campus, saying goodbye to their teachers and fellow students at PennSchool because, after this special ceremony, they will officially become the school’s alumni.

When the poinciana trees put on their bright red shirts, we suddenly realized that another academic year had ended with countless precious memories of the PennSchool community. The academic year 2023 – 2024 with the theme “Eagle Leaders: Soaring with Innovation” has officially ended to make way for a summer vacation with many exciting experiences awaiting #HomeOfTheEagles ahead. See you again in the upcoming academic year with many more interesting experiences.
