Principal’s Message
March has given us many reasons to reflect on one of PennSchool’s key core values: Equity. At its heart, equity is about ensuring that every student has access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to thrive – recognizing that every learner is unique. As educator and civil rights advocate Marian Wright Edelman once said, “You can’t be what you can’t see.” This powerful reminder challenges us to ensure all students see possibility and promise in their futures.
Throughout March, our students experienced learning opportunities that reflected this commitment to equity. We celebrated International Women’s Day by exploring the stories of influential women whose strength and resilience shaped history, showing students that greatness comes from all walks of life. Our internal competitions – the Debate Elite Tournament, the Math Olympiad, and the Project Runway Contest – provided a platform for every student to showcase their individual strengths, whether through analytical thinking, public speaking, or artistic design.
Meanwhile, our younger learners engaged in a fun-filled Spirit Week, designed to generate excitement for Summer Camp 2025. With topics ranging from travel and geography to culinary arts and technology, each activity was designed to spark interest and allow children to shine in their own unique way. And of course, collecting those Spirit Week stamps brought smiles and fueled their curiosity for what’s next!
As we say goodbye to Quarter 3 and step into the final chapter of the academic year, I invite all our families and students to reflect: What does success look like for me? What tools and support do I need to finish strong? Equity reminds us that our journeys may look different, but each one is valuable, and each student is capable of growth, achievement, and pride.
Let’s continue to lift each other up, celebrate our differences, and make Quarter 4 our best one yet.
With warm regards,
Timothy Nelson
