With 20 outstanding speakers selected for the Final Round of TEDxYouth@PennSchool, every moment on stage was not only a personal milestone but also a courageous journey of sharing ideas and spreading inspiring stories, contributing to an emotional and meaningful TEDxYouth@PennSchool experience.

This year, TEDxYouth@PennSchool presents five timely themes that reflect pressing issues and fresh perspectives from the younger generation in a rapidly changing world. Each speaker chooses a topic not only based on current trends but also inspired by their own concerns, experiences, and personal stories. For Đỗ Nguyễn Quỳnh Như, stepping onto the TEDxYouth@PennSchool stage was an opportunity to share her own story about creativity, imagination, and the role of human beings in the digital age.

Quynh Nhu said about her presentation: 

“Participating in the TEDxYouth@PennSchool Final Round was an unforgettable and deeply inspiring journey for me. When choosing the topic “Unlocking Human Imagination in a Digital World: Why the Future Needs Creative Thinkers,” I wanted to share a story that truly reflected my beliefs. Living in an era of rapid technological advancement, I have seen how artificial intelligence and digital tools can make life easier, while also recognizing how they may limit creativity when people rely on them too heavily. Through my talk, I hoped to remind everyone that imagination is a uniquely human ability that technology cannot replace, and that creative thinking is essential for solving future challenges and shaping a meaningful world.”

Like Quynh Nhu, Dang Nhat Duy Anh chose his presentation topic based on his personal goal of affirming the voice and role of students in creating positive change.

“For this year’s TEDxYouth@PennSchool, among all the suggested topics, I chose “Speaking Up to Make a Difference: Why Does Your Voice Matter – Even as a Student?” The reason behind this choice is closely connected to my desire to spread the message that everyone’s voice has value if it is used in the right way. As a writer and content creator, I understand the importance of sharing ideas and personal perspectives because no two people have the exact same experiences, and each person expresses them in their own unique way.”

More than just a platform for sharing ideas, the TEDxYouth@PennSchool stage is also a journey that helps young speakers discover themselves, develop essential skills, and nurture their confidence. Each experience becomes a meaningful milestone of growth, leaving behind unforgettable lessons and emotions for the students involved.

Sharing about her journey, Do Nguyen Quynh Nhu said:

“My TEDx experience has helped me grow in many ways. I learned how to structure ideas logically, speak confidently in front of an audience, and express my thoughts with clarity and purpose. More importantly, TEDx taught me to believe in my voice and the power of sharing ideas. This journey has strengthened my creativity, critical thinking, and courage to speak up. It inspired me to continue learning, imagining, and contributing positively to the future, no matter what challenges the digital world may bring.”

For Dang Nhat Duy Anh, TEDxYouth@PennSchool offered a very different perspective – gentle yet deeply meaningful:

“Participating in TEDxYouth@PennSchool taught me a valuable lesson: not to worry too much about the “perfection” of my talk, because in reality, no one is judging it as harshly as we imagine. During the preparation process, I often overthought my performance and questioned whether the judges would truly appreciate my speech. However, I soon realized that what people notice most is the uniqueness of a talk rather than its technical perfection, and that every idea is one of a kind. This realization helped me release pressure and present my arguments with greater confidence. This experience also brought me many meaningful memories, opportunities to meet new people, and chances to engage with inspiring ideas. It was truly an exciting and enriching journey, and I look forward to returning again next year.”
