#HomeOfTheEagles spreading the seeds of peace

Blue outfits, beautiful melodies, joyful laughter, and meaningful connections came together to make Peace Day 2026 a memorable day at PennSchool.

Inspired by the United Nations theme “Invest in Peace: For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day,” our #HomeOfTheEagles came together to explore the meaning of peace through a series of activities at PennSchool. Each activity helped students discover that peace is not only a big idea, but also something reflected in the way we listen, understand, and treat one another every day.

The words and melodies shared through the “Invest in Peace” podcast opened up relatable stories and perspectives on empathy, connection, and the role each individual can play in creating a peaceful environment. Through these conversations, our #HomeOfTheEagles had opportunities to reflect on how they listen to, understand, and support those around them, recognizing that even small actions can contribute to positive change in the community.

At the “For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day” exhibition corner, colorful posters shared stories of peace through students’ unique choices of colors, images, and creative ideas. The canvas artwork “Together, We Create PEACE,” created collaboratively by #HomeOfTheEagles from different grade levels, became a shared piece where individual contributions came together to express the power of unity and collaboration.

The spirit of connection among our #HomeOfTheEagles was also reflected in team-building games under the theme “Uniting for Peace.” The challenges required students to listen, coordinate, and trust one another. Through these activities, they learned to work together toward a common goal, respect differences, and recognize the role each member plays in a team.

Every song, brushstroke, and moment of connection added another color to the story of peace. Because peace is built through simple everyday actions: listening, sharing, and choosing to spread positivity together.
