United, We Shine Under The Mid–Autumn Moonlight

Another Mid–Autumn Festival is here, bringing the PennSchool community together through meaningful charity projects and a series of fun activities inspired by traditional Vietnamese culture.

From September 21 to 26, 2026, PennSchool celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival under the theme “Moonlit Hearts: Shine & Unite”. The series of activities gave students opportunities to have fun, get creative, and discover the beauty of traditional customs and cultural practices associated with the season.

Ahead of the celebration, classes got into the festive spirit through creative activities such as designing lion dance heads and arranging five-fruit trays. Each class came up with its own ideas, chose their preferred decorations, and created designs that reflected their unique team spirit. Students also had the chance to express their creativity by decorating hand drums and lanterns, adding personalized pieces to the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The spirit of Mid-Autumn also came to life through music with the “One Moon, One Song” activity. Classes practiced the song “Ruoc den thang Tam” in preparation for a school-wide parade, filling the campus with joyful singing and the festive atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn season.

From PennSchool, the joy of the festival was also shared with patients at Children’s Hospital 2 through Charity Gift Station – Season 3. Students and their families came together to donate milk for children receiving treatment at the hospital. Continuing across Mid-Autumn seasons, the initiative gives students an opportunity to show care and kindness through simple yet meaningful gifts.

On September 25, PennSchool’s campus became even more vibrant as #HomeOfTheEagles dressed up as familiar characters from the Mid-Autumn Festival, including Moon Man, Moon Lady, and the Jade Rabbit. At the Mid-Autumn game stations, students took on a variety of challenges that blended traditional elements with a modern twist, bringing plenty of laughter and excitement throughout the day.

The celebration came to a close with Moonlight Stage, featuring musical performances, a play inspired by the Mid-Autumn Festival, and a traditional dragon dance that captured the festive spirit of the night.

From inspiring experiences to acts of kindness shared with others, “Moonlit Hearts: Shine & Unite” brought the PennSchool community a vibrant, heartwarming, and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival.
