In this month of gratitude, the #HomeOfTheEagles continued to make remarkable strides on their journey of self-development, showcasing their impressive English and technology skills through competitions like the Spelling Bee Championship and Youth Drone Racing Challenge.
P-E-N-N-S-C-H-O-O-L! Congratulations to #HomeOfTheEagles for excelling in the Spelling Bee Championship!
Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of #HomeOfTheEagles from Grades 1 to 8, the Spelling Bee Championship, themed “Spelling the Past, Mapping the Future”, was a resounding success, capturing many unforgettable moments. The competition evaluated students’ pronunciation and spelling skills in English, with the closely matched results leading to tie-breaker rounds to determine the overall winners. During the Final Round in early November, students demonstrated their confidence and competitive spirit in a thrilling contest. In recognition of their outstanding efforts, PennSchool presented special gifts to all finalists and awarded medals to the top three champions.
Through this competition, our Eagles not only showcased their linguistic skills but also gained valuable experiences, expanded their vocabulary, and nurtured a deeper passion for English.
The Youth Drone Racing Challenge: A New Playground for Tech Enthusiasts
Within just one week of registration, the Youth Drone Racing Challenge attracted over 100 participants from Grades 6 – 12. “This competition is quite new but also very exciting. It gave me and my team a chance to challenge ourselves and develop soft skills like teamwork and problem-solving,” shared Nguyen Xuan Nhi after the exhilarating Training Session leading up to the Qualifying Round.
Equipped with knowledge about competition rules, drone control techniques, obstacle navigation, and team coordination, the #HomeOfTheEagles confidently entered the Qualifying Round in mid-November. During this round, teams competed in head-to-head matches, controlling drones to navigate obstacles through a figure-eight course and land precisely at designated spots. The 12 fastest teams were selected to advance to the Final Round, where they will continue to demonstrate their skills and passion for technology.
PennSchool is thrilled to see our #HomeOfTheEagles confidently showcase their talents and passions in these school-organized competitions. These events not only foster personal growth but also help students sharpen their skills and broaden their knowledge to become outstanding individuals. Stay tuned for upcoming academic arenas with even more exciting experiences that await.
