Besides Thien Y, Lam Gia Lac of ADP-11A is the second member who participated in the trip to Dien Bien to find out the difficulties of the people and children in this area.
The trip has brought many meaningful experiences to the Saigon girl, providing opportunities for her to participate in community service activities, exchange with local people, and learn how to live with love and sharing.
“The charity trip to Muong Nhe district, Dien Bien province, left me with a lot of different emotions. Muong Nhe is a poor and desolate area where citizens have had many difficulties. But I witnessed the vitality and affection of the people here, especially the H’mong children.
The journey from Saigon to Muong Nhe was long and took a lot of time, but all of these difficulties were worth it. Na Co Sa Secondary School has a shortage of study materials; the students have to share tablets to learn information technology, but they always love learning. While giving cakes and milk to the children at Na Co Sa School, I felt sympathy and love for these people.
Giving gifts to the citizens at a church in Nam Po District, I felt very warm-hearted when seeing their happy faces. This trip not only helped me understand more about their lives but also inspired me to share my love and compassion with the community.
When I think about the students here who had to walk to school with bare feet or worn-out shoes with holes, I feel so sad. I was also impressed by the students’ perseverance and determination when I saw their efforts to get to school on difficult roads and conditions.
March is a month of harsh weather and cold temperatures. Students here had to cope with many difficulties during the winter while they went to school in tattered clothes this month. Because of this, I am very happy to support and promote community service to help these students here. Beautiful actions to build dormitories and renovate roads through volunteer activities and community contributions have created a great strength to help students overcome difficulties in life.
As a young person living in the big city, I believe that we can do more to support students in these rural areas. We can donate books, clothes, shoes, or money to help students in this area have a better life.
Let’s build a happy and united community, helping each other overcome all difficulties and challenges in life. Although this journey is tiring and difficult, I feel very lucky and happy to have the opportunity to participate in PennSchool’s community service program. It is an unforgettable experience in my life, bringing me many values and indescribable emotions.”
