The Professional Development (PD) Week for the academic year 2023-2024 has been officially organized, giving an opportunity for PennSchool teachers to connect and update themselves with valuable information in preparation for the upcoming academic year.
In two weeks of specialized training, teachers were informed of the latest updates in the curriculum, explored the integration of technological advancements in teaching, and prepared for the return of all students to the school.
The first session instructed teachers to become acquainted with PennSchool’s vision, mission, and core values. This was also an opportunity for new members to understand the educational trajectory and values that PennSchool consistently upholds, aiming to construct a shining and developing community.
During the PD Training Session, our teachers collaboratively delved into the child protection policies applicable at PennSchool. These policies stand as PennSchool’s commitment to safeguard the #HomeOfTheEagles against issues such as school-related challenges, abuse, or actions that may infringe upon the children’s rights. Furthermore, teachers were also provided guidance on integrating these policies into the teaching curriculum, aimed at enhancing students’ awareness of their rights and fostering the creation of a safe learning environment.
The following week started with a series of workshops that were presented by experienced professionals, providing teachers the opportunity to learn and enhance their teaching skills.
The Orientation has introduced modern pedagogical approaches adopted by many countries worldwide, such as the Flipped Classroom strategy, the STEAM education approach and accident prevention at schools.
PennSchool hoped that the preparations for teachers’ professional development would infuse the PennSchool community with positive energy in order to welcome an exciting new academic year and together achieve remarkable accomplishments.
