A joyful Tet atmosphere at the Spring Festival “The Next Stop: Prosperity”

In celebration of the Lunar New Year 2026, teachers and #HomeOfTheEagles enthusiastically immersed themselves in a vibrant series of spring festivities filled with color and excitement.

The celebration began with teachers and #HomeOfTheEagles appearing together in vibrant spring attire, bringing a completely refreshed look to the PennSchool campuses. Beyond showcasing colorful outfits to welcome the new season, students strengthened their team spirit through a series of exciting grade-level challenges. From moments of intense focus designing Tet couplets, carving watermelons, and decorating apricot blossom branches, to energetic highlights such as sack races, passing on New Year blessings, and lively Flashmob performances, every activity contributed to a joyful and high-spirited atmosphere of togetherness.

Carrying forward the festive rhythm, the event space also opened up a meaningful journey into the rich traditions of Vietnamese Tet culture. In addition to music competitions and vibrant spring fashion showcases, students experienced the charm of traditional Tet through a variety of folk games, including throwing a cotton ball game, can knockdown, tug of war, mandarin square capturing, blindfold drum hitting, bamboo bridge crossing, and fish-prawn-crab. Notably, the artistic spirit of #HomeOfTheEagles was nurtured through creative workshops led by talented artisans. Students decorated wooden horse figurines, crafted bracelets, practiced calligraphy with precision, and skillfully shaped delicate grasshoppers from coconut leaves – delightful handmade ornaments for the festive season. A particularly meaningful highlight was the activity of designing “Tet train tickets” and hanging them on the apricot blossom tree on campuses. Each ticket represented not only as a decoration but also as a symbol of students’ dreams, goals, and personal commitments to strive and grow confidently in the new year.

The Spring Festival brought not only joy and cherished memories but also marked a heartfelt farewell to the dynamic Year of the Snake. Upon returning to school after the Tet holiday, students received a pleasant surprise – small horse-shaped lapel pins from their teachers. More than a simple keepsake, the gift carried a message of perseverance and the spirit of “success comes with perseverance” that the School wished to instill in every student.
