Principal’s Message
Dear PennSchool Community,
As October comes to a close, we take time to reflect on one of PennSchool’s defining core values: Leadership. This month has been especially exciting, as our students took bold steps forward to become the next generation of PennSchool leaders. From Student Council elections and House Leaders selections to Prefects interviews, including the appointment of our new Head Boy and Head Girl, we witnessed the enthusiasm, courage, and compassion that leadership requires.
Leadership at PennSchool goes beyond holding a position; it is about inspiring others through example. John Quincy Adams once said, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” This timeless truth captures what we strive to cultivate in our students: the understanding that true leadership is not about authority, but about influence, service, and integrity.
What makes leadership so powerful in our community is how it connects to our other core values. To be a good leader, one must also show respect by listening to others, valuing different opinions, and treating everyone with kindness. Likewise, true leadership requires equity, ensuring that every voice is heard and that opportunities are shared fairly among all students. When our young leaders embrace these values together, they not only guide others but also build a culture of trust and belonging.
To our newly elected and appointed student leaders, congratulations. Your willingness to step forward, share your ideas, and take responsibility for your school community is commendable. You are the heart of PennSchool’s continued growth, setting an example of courage and compassion for your peers.
To our parents, thank you for nurturing these traits at home. The confidence and empathy you help instill in your children empower them to become the leaders our world needs, leaders who not only dream big but also lift others along the way.
As we look ahead, let us continue to celebrate leadership in all its forms. Whether it is a student guiding a team project, a friend offering a helping hand, or a teacher inspiring a class to think deeply and act kindly, leadership lives in every act of service and respect. When we lead with respect, fairness, and heart, we make PennSchool and our world a stronger, more compassionate place.
Warm regards,
Mr. Timothy Nelson
Principal of American Program & Academic Director
