Principal’s Message

Dear PennSchool Community,

As we reach the final weeks of May, we arrive at a moment of profound significance for our campus. The end of an academic year is always a time of celebration, but this month carries an extra layer of pride and emotion as we officially close PennSchool’s 5th year.

Throughout this entire school year, our journey has been guided by our beautiful milestone theme: “5 Years of Love and Leadership.” Looking back at how much our community has grown since our doors first opened, I am filled with immense pride for our students, our faculty, and the deep roots we have planted together with the support of our parents. As the poet T.S. Eliot wisely observed: “What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning.” These words ring especially true as we look at the monumental events defining our final month together. This May, our hallways and community spaces have been alive with the culmination of a year’s worth of hard work. During our School Year Exhibition, we had the privilege of witnessing our students’ creativity, innovation, and academic milestones beautifully displayed, a true testament to their growth as independent thinkers.

This month, we were honored to welcome you to our final Parent-Teacher Meetings of the year, a vital opportunity to reflect together on your child’s unique achievements and progress. And, most movingly, we celebrate our Graduation Ceremonies. Watching our graduating students prepare to step into the next chapters of their lives is a powerful reminder of what “Love and Leadership” looks like in its highest form. The Class of 2026 leaves us with academic knowledge, as resilient, compassionate individuals ready to make a meaningful impact on the world.

As we transition into the summer break, I encourage our families to view the upcoming months as a golden opportunity for personal growth and independent projects. While summer is a time to rest, it is also the perfect season to put one of PennSchool’s most sacred core values into daily practice: Respect. We often think of respect within the classroom, but true respect begins at home.

This summer, I challenge our students to actively practice respect by looking for ways to support the families who have supported them so unconditionally all year long. By taking on daily roles around the house, helping with chores, and proactively working to reduce the daily burden on their parents, children learn to deeply appreciate the effort it takes to run a household. This active stewardship helps our Eagles develop authentic empathy for their guardians, while building crucial leadership skills like taking initiative and practicing accountability.

Finally, on behalf of the entire Board of Principals and the faculty at PennSchool, I want to extend our deepest, most heartfelt gratitude to our parents. Thank you for your unwavering trust, your continuous support, and your dedicated partnership throughout this school year. We are acutely aware that our success is built entirely upon the strength of our collaboration with you.

Wishing all of our transitioning graduates the absolute best, and wishing all of our PennSchool families a safe, joyful, and deeply meaningful summer filled with love, leadership, and connection.

Warm regards,

Timothy Nelson
Principal of American Program & Academic Director
