Every International Women’s Day (March 8), the PennSchool alumni always recall cherished memories with the women who have accompanied them on their journey to adulthood. Please join the School in listening to the warm sharing of students for their beloved teachers.
“In each student’s mind, there is a private space filled with beautiful memories, and in my heart, that place holds images of PennSchool – a school where love and sharing always overflow.
When March comes, our hearts go out to our special women. These are the mothers, teachers, and women we love and respect. On this day, we’re not only sending our wishes but also seizing this opportunity to express our gratitude and deep affection for them.
Recalling the years of studying at PennSchool, in addition to the knowledge in books, the teachers taught us how to love and respect each other. They are our friends, advisors, and motivators who have played an important role in our lives.
Every year, on International Women’s Day (March 8), all members of the PennSchool community would immerse themselves in an atmosphere of sharing and love. Together, we made fresh flower bouquets, wrote heartfelt cards, and gave our best wishes to the women we love. It was a way for us to show our gratitude and respect.
These important women taught us about strength and patience to overcome all difficulties in life. So, on that special day, we want to send our best wishes to the women who have always been by our side and accompanied us. In every step we take, there is the presence and influence of mothers and teachers who are always devoted to us. We promise to continue spreading this love so that our world becomes warmer, day by day and hour by hour.” – Tran Khanh Linh shared.
Nguyen Ta Thai Son also agrees with Khanh Linh that at PennSchool, teachers are not only dedicated to imparting knowledge but also enthusiastic about helping their students develop themselves. When asked about International Women’s Day, Thai Son said: “One of the most cherished traditions at PennSchool during International Women’s Day is the exchange of thank you cards. Those heartfelt wishes serve as tokens of our appreciation for the unwavering support and guidance provided by our female teachers. I remember spending hours carefully composing each message, trying to express the depth of gratitude I felt towards these incredible women. Their dedicated guidance went beyond the confines of the classroom, instilling in us the values of resilience, compassion, and determination.
Another cherished tradition at PennSchool is the act of making or giving flowers to the girls, female teachers, and our mothers. The bouquets of flowers with vibrant colors we made demonstrate the delicate beauty that symbolizes the strength and grace of womanhood. Whether it was a simple bouquet of flowers picked from the school garden or intricately crafted paper flowers, the gestures carried immense significance. It was a way for us to express our admiration and love for the women who played pivotal roles in shaping our lives.
My fondest memories were of the moments spent with my favorite teachers at PennSchool. Our classroom was not just a place for learning but also served as our sanctuary, where we were seen, heard, and valued. I could still remember the laughter that echoed throughout the corridors during break times, the lively discussions that sparked intellectual curiosity, and the quiet moments of reflection. All of those are cherished memories of our student years with these inspiring women.
As I reflect on the journey that brought me to where I am today, I am filled with profound gratitude for the women who have walked alongside me, guiding, inspiring, and shaping me into the person I have become. This International Women’s Day is not just a day of celebration but also a testament to the resilience, strength, and dedication of women everywhere. This is also an opportunity to honor their contributions, celebrate their achievements, and reaffirm our commitment to gender equality.
In sending love to the women we cherish forever, let us not only express our gratitude through words and gestures but also strive to create a world where every woman is valued, respected, and empowered to pursue her dreams. Together, let us celebrate the remarkable women who enrich our lives and inspire us to strive for excellence.”
For PennSchool alumni, International Women’s Day continues to evoke their deepest and most emotional memories. Those are the cherished memories that #HomeOfTheEagles will always be remembered as the most meaningful part of their student years at PennSchool.
