Letter from Board of Principals
Dear PennSchool Community,
As we come to the close of April, we reflect on this month’s core value: Respect. Respect is not only about how we treat others in the present moment, but also about how we see their potential and support their growth.
As Johann Wolfgang von Goethe wisely said, “When we treat people merely as they are, they will remain as they are. When we treat them as they should be, they will become what they should be.” This idea closely mirrors the Golden Rule encouraging us to treat others not just with kindness, but with belief in who they can become.
At PennSchool, we strive to create an environment where students feel respected, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. When we set high expectations and pair them with encouragement, we empower our students to grow in confidence and achievement.
This month, we are especially proud to celebrate the many students who have performed exceptionally well in recent competitions. Whether in international academic competitions, the arts, or extracurricular activities, these accomplishments are a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and willingness to challenge themselves. Just as importantly, these successes reflect a culture of respect for the learning process, for feedback, and for the effort required to improve and excel.
As we look ahead, May brings one of the most meaningful periods of our school year. We are excited to welcome parents to our upcoming School Year Exhibition, Graduation, and Closing Ceremonies. These events are a celebration of everything our students have worked toward, moments where learning comes to life and achievements are shared with our community. It is during this time that we truly see the impact of a year’s worth of growth, both academically and personally.
I encourage all of our families to join us in recognizing not just the outcomes, but the journey. A journey built on respect, effort, and a shared commitment to excellence and holistic development. When we come together to celebrate our students, we reinforce the values that help them thrive.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to celebrating these special moments with you in the weeks ahead.
Warm regards,
Mr. Timothy Nelson
Principal of the American Program and Academic Director
