#HomeOfTheEagles Ready to Act for a Bright Future
Nội dung bài viết
September at PennSchool is a meaningful journey, with many activities contributing to the development of thinking, nurturing personality, and future orientation for #HomeOfTheEagles.
Spreading the Message of Peace with Peace Day
In celebration of the Peace Day under the theme “Act Now for a Peaceful World”, the PennSchool community transformed the schoolyard into a sea of blue – the symbolic color of peace. With a desire to promote a friendly school environment, preserve peace, and say no to violence, our #HomeOfTheEagles created white dove bracelets, designed posters, and peace symbols, and placed them on a world map. Through the podcast program “Voices of Peace”, students proudly expressed their role as the younger generation in building a more civilized and peaceful world. Their compassion was also reflected in heartfelt letters sent to students in the Northwestern highlands, carrying messages of love and solidarity.

Launching the Piggy Bank Fundraising Campaign
Following the success of the Piggy Bank Campaign in the academic year 2024 – 2025, PennSchool has relaunched this initiative under the main project “Tay Bac: One Brick – A Million Dreams”, aiming to support students and communities in Dien Bien and Son La provinces. Beyond fundraising, this campaign serves as an invaluable educational experience. By saving daily with their piggy banks, our #HomeOfTheEagles practice the habit of saving, develop empathy for those in need in the highlands, and foster gratitude for what they already have – all while fostering a sense of responsibility toward the community. The campaign is expected to conclude in April 2026, with the piggy banks contributing to the Community Fund “Light Up the Future”.

Nurturing a Love for Reading through International Literacy Week
In mid-September, the PennSchool library came alive as our #HomeOfTheEagles shared their favorite stories, took part in vocabulary challenges, and uncovered meaningful messages hidden within books during International Literacy Week. Beyond this special event, PennSchool continues to foster a love of reading through annual activities such as Reading Circle and Book Week. These programs encourage students to expand their vocabulary and communication skills, explore diverse genres, cultivate a reading culture, and gain valuable knowledge.

Exploring Universities through Career Orientation Activities
September also brought PennSchool Secondary students a chance to engage in lively discussions about their dreams, promising fields of study, and top universities. Understanding their concerns about finding the “right fit” for their future, PennSchool organized seminars with representatives from Queens College, the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire (UW-Eau Claire), and Temple University. Besides learning about admissions, scholarships, study pathways, and career opportunities, students also received practical advice to help them gain a broader perspective, confidently choose their academic paths, and set clear goals for the future.
