The Journey of Spreading Love of Class ADP-10 Through the Community Service
Nội dung bài viết
Aiming to spread meaningful messages and support the community, in this academic year, members of Class ADP-10 have initiated and carried out 2 meaningful projects through the Community Service subject.
The Community Service elective class has become a beloved subject in the American Diploma program. With 60 hours dedicated to community service, students not only gain a deeper understanding of their role in community building but also have the chance to develop attitudes of gratitude and make positive changes in the world around them.
Over the past school years, the PennSchool community as a whole, and especially #HomeOfTheEagles in ADP, have participated in various meaningful community projects to support children and those in need across Vietnam. Gifts have been sent to SOS Children’s Village, “Thien Phuoc House” for Disabled Children, “Quan Com Xa Hoi Nu Cuoi”, Food Bank Vietnam, and so on. Each project was an idea developed and executed by the students themselves.
In the academic year 2023 – 2024, #HomeOfTheEagles of Class ADP-10 planned and developed the “Dream Helper Fundraising” project aimed at supporting underprivileged children and the “Youth-led Animal Rescue Campaign” to raise funds to help abandoned animals.
After a period of planning, students spent 2 months raising funds by selling products like drinks, cookies, Panna Cotta, and S’mores. All the proceeds from these fundraising campaigns will undoubtedly be meaningful gifts sent to the organizations Saigonchildren and Law for Paws Vietnam.
And in these final days of the year, the members of Class ADP-10 also spent time together visiting and handling out gifts that they collected to various organizations. The “Dream Helper Fundraising” project has received 7,315,000 VND with the goal of helping children in difficult circumstances through the Saigon Children’s Charity Organization. The “Youth-led Animal Rescue Campaign” project has also received donations of 5,800,000 VND in order to support pets being cared for at Law for Paws Vietnam. The amount of money is not too much, but it is the heartfelt contribution that #HomeOfTheEagles of Class ADP-10 would like to give to the community.
These meaningful campaigns not only allow #HomeOfTheEagles to spread profound messages from the heart but also provide them with the opportunity to demonstrate their responsibility through “small but impactful” contributions to the community.
