Dressed in vibrant traditional outfits, the PennSchool community has painted a radiant yet cozy picture for the Mid-Autumn Festival 2024 event “Once in the Blue Moon”.
On September 14, 2024, the PennSchool family gathered to learn how to make mooncakes – the symbolic cake of every Reunion Festival – through the Mooncake Making Workshop. Under the detailed guidance of Ms. Vu Thi Ngoc Mai – Founder of ANN HOME – the #HomeOfTheEagles and their families kneaded and shaped colorful and delicious mung bean-filled mooncakes. This workshop created an opportunity for parents and #HomeOfTheEalges to have more interesting experiences in the days leading up to the Tet Reunion, preserve many memorable moments together and, most of all, strengthen the bond of love between family members.
On September 17 and 18, 2024 at City Park, the #HomeOfTheEagles carried lanterns together, had fun with many dynamic games, participated in the School’s challenges, and enjoyed the vibrant dragon dance and humorous play “Trang Oi, Trang A”. At the same time, the #HomeOfTheEagles also had the opportunity to learn about the Reunion Festival in Asia through quizzes that offered exciting prizes. Also in the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival event “Once in the Blue Moon”, the students showed their ingenuity in decorating star lanterns. The students’ star lanterns became more sparkling and eye-catching with the meticulously cut and pasted stars, moon, and clouds.
PennSchool’s Mid-Autumn Festival celebration became even more meaningful as the School contributed a part of the festival’s organization costs to the national relief fund, allowing #HomeOfTheEagles to help those affected by Typhoon Yagi.
Through this Mid-Autumn Festival event, the PennSchool community not only strengthened its bonds but also forged new friendships and deepened its appreciation for the nation’s beautiful traditions.
