Principal’s Message
As we begin a new calendar year, January offers us a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and recommit together. The start of the year reminds us that our greatest strength lies in partnership: when school, families, and students work in alignment, we create a learning community that is both connected and forward-looking.
This month, we highlight two of our core values: Leadership and Inquisitiveness. Leadership at PennSchool is not limited to formal roles; it is reflected in everyday choices: students taking responsibility for their learning, Parents engaging thoughtfully in their children’s growth, and educators continually seeking better ways to support every learner. Inquisitiveness fuels this leadership, encouraging our students to ask questions, explore possibilities, and imagine how their actions today shape tomorrow.
Management thinker Peter Drucker captured this idea perfectly when he said, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.” At PennSchool, we believe education is not about passively waiting for the future to arrive, but about actively building it through curiosity, responsibility, and purposeful action.
A recent example of this mindset can be seen at our 240 Tran Binh Trong campus, where we have introduced a new recycling box in the canteen through a partnership with Tetra Pak. This initiative supports efforts to reduce waste in Ho Chi Minh City and invites our students to think more deeply about sustainability. By asking simple but important questions: What happens after we throw something away? How can small actions make a difference? Students learn that leadership often begins with awareness. If your child attends the 240 campus, we kindly ask for your support in encouraging them to rinse and recycle their milk cartons after use. Should this initiative prove successful, we look forward to expanding the program to both campuses. Together, these small, consistent actions help cultivate environmentally responsible habits and reinforce the idea that each of us has a role to play in shaping a better future.
As we move forward into 2026, let us continue to start strong, not only at the beginning of the year, but every day, by leading with intention, remaining curious, and supporting one another as a unified learning community. When we work as one, there is no limit to what our students can achieve.
Warm regards,
Mr. Timothy Nelson
Principal of American Program & Academic Director
