Student Council Members Demonstrate Leadership to Engage the PennSchool Community

    This December, the members of the Student Council have officially revealed themselves and are ready to organize their first exciting activities. With their enthusiastic energy and sense of responsibility, they will do their best to build a united and supportive PennSchool community.

    Accordingly, the Student Council of PennSchool is divided into the Elementary School and the High School, comprising positions such as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and PR Officer. In the roles they undertake, members of the Student Council believe that listening to the concerns of fellow students in the school is essential, as it can help them generate unique ideas, contributing to the continual development of the PennSchool community.

    High School Student Council

    Nguyen An Phu, a student from ADP-11, shared his journey of becoming the President of the High School Student Council. He expressed that he gained valuable lessons and has improved his leadership and communication skills throughout the election process. During this journey, he meticulously planned and effectively conveyed his message in a one-minute campaign video. In the interview rounds, he demonstrated his outstanding leadership abilities and shared ideas and perspectives centered around students and their future projects with the Board of Principals. “Throughout my term as President, I will strive to better serve the School and, in doing so, hope to build a long-lasting community that promotes positivity and confidence,” An Phu expressed with determination. With the position of President of the Student Council Elementary School, Huynh Nguyen Gia Khang, a student from VAP-5B, demonstrated capabilities no less than those of his older peers. effectively presented himself in the election rounds and achieved the highest scores, securing the same position as An Phu.

    Expressing joy upon being selected for one of the leading positions in the Elementary School Student Council, Vice President Dinh An Zoe, a student from IAP-5, expressed her desire to maintain a positive learning environment and prevent school violence among each student. Meanwhile, Le Ngoc Bao Dan, a student from ADP-11, shared that her primary concerns are improving the facilities, organizing extracurricular activities, and conducting workshops to enhance mental well-being when becoming Vice President of the High School Student Council. During her time at PennSchool, Bao Dan has actively collaborated with the School to organize various workshops, providing the PennSchool community can study together, exchange and relieve stress after school.

    Having previously served as the PR Officer of the Elementary School during the academic year 2022 – 2023, Nguyen Vivi, a student from IAP-5, expressed great joy at the opportunity to continue accompanying the Student Council in the academic year 2023 – 2024, this time serving as the Secretary. She emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive learning environment, fostering respect, and preventing violence in the school. Vivi pledged to stand alongside PennSchool in upholding these principles. In the High School, Vu Truc Anh, a student from ADP-11, demonstrated perseverance in the face of challenges during the application process. Making use of the lessons learned from the previous unsuccessful attempt, she approached the process with greater confidence, overcoming obstacles to succeed in the selection rounds and achieve a memorable experience. “I believe that students learn best when they are engaged and interested in what they enjoy the most. This will help every student establish a connection with each other, fostering a sense of unity and strong friendship among the students, ultimately creating a positive and vibrant school environment.” expressed Truc Anh.

    When asked about her objectives, Bui Thi Minh Thao, the PR Officer of the High School from ADP-11, shared, “I aim to enhance awareness of activities, organize engaging events, and ensure that students are heard and empowered to express their ideas. Additionally, I intend to establish an open communication channel where students can confidently express their opinions and desires.” In the Elementary School, Nguyen Gia Cat Tuong, a student from VAP-5B, expressed great happiness in becoming an integral part of the Student Council at PennSchool. She is determined to successfully fulfill her responsibilities in this term.

    Understanding the importance of the Treasurer position, Luan Quoc Thinh from IAP-4 expressed his commitment to applying his knowledge of mathematics, finance, and budgeting to maintain accuracy and balance revenue and expenditure appropriately for various activities and events. Similarly, Nguyen Le Tung Duy, a student from ADP-12, agreed with this perspective and pledged to manage funds efficiently and transparently to ensure the success of school activities, events, and projects. This demonstrates how students adeptly apply the knowledge gained to their projects, learning how to adapt to various situations and face challenges.
